Luxury segment of Honda named Acura was launched nearly 30 years ago. Its raise started through 1990’s and by now it is really recognizable division with vehicles that major their classes. Recently, Acura was involved in SUV market, and there are big expectations from it. In particular from its new 2017 Acura CDX.
2016 marks the tenth anniversary of Acura’s presence in China, but in spite of its connection to the country, the brand has under no circumstances truly built a vehicle there. At the 2016 Beijing Auto Show, that all changed.
The luxury automaker debuted the all-new CDX SUV at the event, one that the manufacturer hopes will carve out a new market in China and boost its worldwide presence all round. Based on the identical platform that underpins the Honda HR-V, the CDX is noticeably bigger than its more frugal cousin, measuring in at 176.9 inches long, 72.4 inches wide, and 62.9 inches tall. For reference, that is just a few inches smaller than the CR-V all around.
In announcing the updated-for-2017 MDX, Acura has a small bit for everyone. For the common luxury three-row crossover shopper, there is delight to be had in Acura creating its AcuraWatch safety features-including automatic emergency braking-standard on each MDX. For driving enthusiasts who have to have an MDX simply because their litter of children won’t fit inside a Mazda MX-5 Miata, Acura now is supplying its “three-motor” Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system.
2017 Acura CDX Exterior
On the outside, the new CDX combines a dynamic profile with a swoopy roofline plus a front that borrows its aesthetics from the facelifted 2017 Acura CDX, which includes Acura’s new ‘beakless’ corporate grille.
New for 2017 are two exterior colors. They are Lunar Silver Metallic and Modern Steel Metallic. An Ebony interior is optional with the White Diamond Pearl Exterior.
2017 Acura CDX Engine
The CDX is powered by Acura’s 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 182 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of toque. The engine is transversely mounted and is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can pick out involving the standard front-wheel drive or the optional AWD system.
2017 Acura CDX Release Date and Price
The 2017 Acura CDX will carry a base starting price of roughly 250,000 Yuan, which converts to about $38,000 in U.S. dollars at present exchange rates. High-end models will go for roughly 300,000 Yuan, which is roughly $46,000.
The CDX might be the first Acura to be made in China by Honda’s local joint-venture with Guangzhou Automobile, with sales to begin in the third quarter of the year.
